At her dad’s funeral, a 14-year-old girl Kyung-un meets her uncle Jae-min, a complete stranger to her until then. Jae-min, a callow swindler, bilks his niece out of her father’s insurance money. Learning what her uncle did, Kyung-un blindsides him with his secret and demands her money back, but Jae- min unashamedly refuses.
To get her money back, Kyung-un agrees to play Jae-min’s daughter in his next scam, managing to trick and earn the trust of a pharmacist named Jum-hee. As the scheme ripens, Kyung-un grows uneasy, longing to have the family she never had. Slowly, the three begin to care about each other in this fake relationship.

The world is on the brink of war. And Chukhna meets the love of his life - Lyolya. Ahead there will be the front, blockade, death of the dearest and inevitable maturing growing up. A city girl, Jagoda, visits her extended family in the Balkan countryside during the summer, awakening hope, love, and the sense of mystery. The story unfolds in a recently fragmented space, on the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Croatia, and is mirrored in the narrative structure of the film, which is broken in two halves and an epilogue. The ghostly presence of the young woman creates a connection between the two families, divided by the newly formed borders, with no passports or umbrellas needed.

When his mother arranges his sudden marriage, Shukla and his new wife face the experience of so many couples in Mumbai: a new marriage, no experience in a relationship and a joint family love nest that offers no space for sex, much less a conversation. Their only respite is a line of old suitcases set up by his father to separate them from the family, a cell phone and a city of 18 million eyes.
