Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova
Every year the Yalta International Film Festival “Eurasian Bridge” brings together filmmakers from different continents. Over the years of its existence works originating from more than 40 countries took part in its programs. The goal of the festival is to become an important means of setting up cultural relations between Russia and Eurasia, of joining forces not merely for the sake of advancing cinema but for building spiritual unity via cinema. Today the Republic of Crimea is a creditable venue for direct interested talks about the topical issues of the development of film industry. This is of paramount importance, taking into consideration the fact that cinema and culture as a whole have a unique mission of enlightenment and consolidation, they form lofty spiritual, moral artistic ideals, preserve our joint historical memory and promote international and inter-cultural cooperation. “Eurasian Bridge” has already established a reputation as one of the respected international forums and this year it will present to the audience the newest and best films by Russian and foreign filmmakers. The festival enjoys well-deserved attention and sincere love of the audience. This allows it to become better and more interesting every year. Thank you to all those who contribute to the process! I wish the participants, guests and organizers of this important cultural event success and new achievements and to the festival I wish further development and prosperity.
