A musical film based on the fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen. A penniless wandering puppeteer pays for his lunch at the inn with a performance. Fascinated by the innkeeper’s daughter, he wants to run away with her, abandoning his ragtag artists. To dissuade him, the puppets play out a fairy tale for him. In it, the puppeteer becomes a brave soldier, the innkeeper’s daughter becomes a naughty and capricious princess, and the innkeeper becomes a king. To marry the princess, the soldier will have to overcome many obstacles. A kind wizard, who can conjure a magic flintlock, will help him in it.

The film is based on the fairy tale of the same name by Charles Perrault. A Donkey’s Hide is the nickname of Princess Therese, who ran away from her wedding because she was in love with another poor prince Jacques. Now she is forced to wander as a beggar, endure humiliation and hide from the police. But she has an enchanted ring with an emerald. With it she will save Jacques’s life.

The protagonist Sasha is going through a difficult period of his life: his mother left the family, having fallen in love with another man. He will visit the Three Gudgeons’ Inn, the closet of the beautiful Malvina, the Field of Wonders and the pond of Tortilla the Tortoise, who will give Buratino the key that unlocks the door to the magic land.
