A musical TV movie based on the fairy tale by Alexei Tolstoy. Wooden Buratino, whom Papa Carlo carved out of a log, is funny, cheeky, noisy, and trusting. Having promised Carlo to be a good pupil, he sells his ABC book and instead of going to school rushes to the puppet theater. There he is seized by a tyrant director Karabas-Barabas. Escaping from the villain, Buratino falls into the hands of two crooks, Alice the Fox and Basilio the Cat. He will visit the Three Gudgeons’ Inn, the closet of the beautiful Malvina, the Field of Wonders and the pond of Tortilla the Tortoise, who will give Buratino the key that unlocks the door to the magic land.
