Author and director of documentaries. Born in 1955 in Semipalatinsk. In 1982 he graduated from the Kirov Kazakh State University in Almaty, in 1986 from the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Film, in 1993 from the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters & Film Directors in Moscow. Multiple winner of international festivals and film awards. His non-fiction film “Experiment of the Cross” (1995, together with T.Popov) won prizes at the international film festivals in Leipzig, Biarritz, Amsterdam and many other and was nominated for Emmy Award, shown on leading TV channels in 30 countries. His filmography also includes documentaries “I Will Advocate Myself” (1987), “Lord of the Flies” (1990), “Champion Number One” (1991), “Doomed to Survive” (2005), “Not about Dogs” (2010), “13 Kilometers” (2017), “Three Colleagues” (2023) and others. Participant of many international educational programs. Laureate of the award of the Russian Society “Znanie” for his contribution to education in the field of culture and art. His documentary “Ivan’s Ladder” (2022) won awards at various international film festivals and got a special mention by the jury of the VI Yalta IFF “Eurasian Bridge”. Director of the short fiction film “Snowdrop” (2015). Director, scriptwriter and producer of non-fiction films. Born in Yerevan. Graduated from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and postgraduate studies in Sociology at the Yerevan State University, as well as from the Faculty of Public Professions in Film Directing. Since 2000 she has been making documentaries. Winner of international film festivals. Teaches at Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Film, associate professor. Organizer and general manager of the Women’s International Film Festival “KIN” (http://kinfestival.com). Her film “Pro Shamiram” (2017) participated in the documentary films competition of the II Yalta IFF “Eurasian Bridge”. Her filmography also includes non-fiction films “From Monologue to Dialogue” (2000), “The Voices” (2002), “The Butterfly” (2010), “Armenia: Invisible Country” (2013), “We Are from Ani” (2014), “The Ancestors’ Dissolving Sha-dows” (2015), “Blue Violet”, “The House That Built Tsoghik” (2020), etc...
